What happened

The UAE provided the largest share at $23 million, followed by $10 million from India and $9 million from Saudi Arabia, with Qatar, Romania and Vietnam each about $5 million. This aggregate supersedes the per-country/per-project licensing figures for counting purposes.

Why it matters

Foreign real estate partners paid a sitting U.S. president tens of millions for use of his name during his first year back in office, a nearly tenfold increase from before he returned to power, raising unresolved emoluments concerns.
